Current AI systems often struggle when faced with mixed inputs. They might be great at reading text or good at recognizing images, but they falter when these modalities interact in complex ways. By introducing a new training method called decision-aligned group relative policy optimization, the researchers trained an eight-billion-parameter model that now leads all open-source omnimodal agents.
